Was the planting of chestnut, roughly estimated to be about 200-250 years old, on some estates, have any connection to the growing of hops and proximity of oast houses to process those hops.THat is the chestnut was grown for hop poles. Also the name ‘staves’ wood may inidcate the use for that chestnut?
